During a routine inspection
During the inspection we spoke with two dentists (one dentist was also the registered provider) and two dental nurses. We observed a dental consultation and spoke with seven people who used the service, four people on the day of our visit and three people by telephone after our visit. This was to ask them about their experiences of the service.
The people we spoke with were complimentary about the service they had received. Their comments included: 'They always do a lovely job here. I am very happy' and 'I feel comfortable around the dentist and the nurse.'
Care and treatment was based on assessments of people's individual dental health needs. Staff received appropriate training and were equipped to support people who used the service.
Infection prevention procedures were followed to minimise the risk of infection and ensure instruments were being hygienically cleaned.
There were systems in place to monitor how the practice was run to ensure people received a quality service.
