During a routine inspection
Patients we spoke with told us they were happy with the treatment and the service they received. One person said "I went somewhere else a few years ago but wasn't happy so came back. You can't match the service here" and another patient said "My whole family come here and they are wonderful. None of us have ever had to complain".
We looked at the care records for five patients and saw that they had visited the practice regularly. We saw that the records included a treatment plan that had been signed by the patient to confirm they had given their consent to the treatment, and that patients' medical histories had been updated at each appointment. This meant that patients had been treated safely and the practice had ensured that their dental health was maintained.
We spoke with two members of staff and the principle dental practitioner who had been able to identify the different signs of abuse for vulnerable adults and children. They were all able to explain the correct safeguarding reporting procedures to follow should they have any concerns.
We found that the practice had robust systems in place for quality assurance and good infection control procedures were followed to minimise the risk of cross contamination and infection.
