During a routine inspection
We saw the waiting area provided useful information leaflets about differing types of treatment, dental health care for children and fees for private treatment. The practice charter was displayed along with the commitment to quality and complaints.
The practice had extended opening hours from Monday to Wednesday to enable people to attend for appointments before or after work. There were out of hours arrangements for emergencies.
The record of appointments contained information about the treatment people received and charts recorded dental treatment. There were arrangements in place for medical emergencies.
We saw a poster indicating there was zero tolerance to child abuse. There was information available for staff and certificates showed they had completed training in child protection and safeguarding in the spring of 2012.
There were good measures in place to control the spread of infection. The infection control policy was displayed and staff received training in infection control.
There was a good system for monitoring quality and complaints were managed.
