During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this on-site, announced assessment on 9 December 2024. We found the practice had met regulations. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and infection control procedures were in place. Overall, the practice had effective systems to manage risks. We noted improvements could be made to fire and sharps safety management systems. Sheffield Dental Centre is part of Bupa a dental group provider. The practice is in Sheffield and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children. There was step free access to the practice and parking was available near the practice at local pay and display car parks. The practice had 5 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with 2 dentists, 1 dental nurse, reception staff and the practice manager.

During a routine inspection

We spoke privately with three people who were attending the practice for check ups or treatment. All three people told us that they were "very pleased" with all aspects of the service. They told us that staff were "very pleasant, friendly and professional". One person said 'The staff are brilliant here they all have so much time for you, all in all it's a very good dental practice.' Everyone commented on the cleanliness of the practice. One person said 'It is immaculately clean here.'
