During a routine inspection
People were satisfied with the care and treatment received. One person said: 'I had a same day emergency appointment, which was good for me.' Records viewed confirmed people's treatment was agreed, consent obtained and treatment plan was in place.
People told us the treatment rooms were clean and staff took steps to protect them from any risk of infection or harm. From discussion with staff and observations we found there were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. The infection prevention and decontamination policies were up to date; comprehensive and responsibilities clearly defined.
There were effective recruitment processes in place that ensured suitably qualified staff were employed. Review of staff records showed checks were carried out to ensure staff were suitable to work with vulnerable people and qualified. Staff maintained their professional registration, skills and knowledge through accessing regular training and information.
The provider had an effective quality assurance system in place to monitor and manage the quality of service provided. Complaints were listened to and regular patient feedback ensured the practice continued to provide a quality service.
