During a routine inspection
People's dental care needs were properly assessed and treatment was planned in line with their individual care plan. We saw from the results of the patient satisfaction survey which found 100% of patients 'agreed' or 'strongly agreed' with the statement 'I always understand what treatment I have consented to.'
We saw there were safeguarding procedures in place and staff training. One dentist we spoke with commented they felt, 'their training had been useful because it helped to describe the signs of abuse dentists could encounter when carrying out an examination.'
The practice was clean and well maintained with good procedures were in place to prevent cross infection.
We saw staff at the practice were properly trained, worked to a professional code of conduct and kept their skills updated. One of the dentists told us he felt the practice was good at supporting all staff with their work, additional study projects and career development.
There were measures in place to make sure the quality of the service received by patients was maintained or improved. Patients were regularly asked for their views and their responses were used to plan and make improvements.
