We carried out this un-announced assessment on 25 July 2024. We found the practice had not met all regulations. The practice had some systems to manage risks. However, improvements could be made to the system for managing the risk associated with fire. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance. However, improvements could be made to ensuring dental care records reflect national guidance. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. Infection control procedures followed published guidance. Patients were treated with dignity and respect. At the time of our assessment, patients could access care, support and treatment when required. Chana Dental Practice – Leeds provides NHS dental care and treatment for adults and children. At the time of our assessment, the dental team included a dentist, a trainee dental nurse and a practice manager (who is also a qualified dental nurse). The practice had 1 treatment room. During the assessment we spoke with all members of staff. The provider was not complying with regulation 17 (Good governance) of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.
