During a routine inspection
Records of care and treatment contained relevant detail, including x ray information and referral notes where appropriate. People were treated in a manner which promoted their oral and general health. All of the people with whom we spoke or whose views we obtained complimented the service they had received. One person said, 'I have been here since the beginning and I wouldn't go anywhere else.'
The premises had been maintained in a clean and hygienic condition. The service maintained detailed policies and procedures related to cleanliness and infection control and there was evidence to show that the procedures were followed to minimise the risk of cross infection. Everyone we spoke with or whose opinion we sought told us the standard of cleanliness was excellent or very good. One person said 'Clean? I should say so. It's spotless.'
The premises and its fixed appliances and utilities were maintained in good repair and were suitable for the use to which they had been put. The premises were safe and risks to people who used the service had been minimised by a programme of improvement and maintenance.
The service provider had in place a clear procedure for dealing with complaints or adverse comments although no complaints had been received by the service.
