During a routine inspection
People told us they had a choice of appointment times which could be fit around them. People said they were usually seen by the dentist within five minutes of their appointment time. Two people told us they had needed emergency appointments and had been seen straight away. One person did comment that on one occasion when she wanted an emergency appointment she had not been seen as quickly as she would have liked.
People were very positive about the staff and described them as 'lovely,' 'friendly' and 'polite.' One person told us she became very anxious before she visited the dentist. She told us; 'The dentist is very patient with me. He puts me at my ease.'
All four people told us they were clear on the cost of treatment and were given written treatment estimate costs.
People told us they were given choices and provided with explanations in relation to each choice of treatment. People said they were given the opportunity to ask questions. People made the following comments:
'The dentist explains things in a caring manner.'
'The dentist always explains things.'
'The dentist gives me options and discusses each one.'
We asked people about the cleanliness of the surgery and all four people said they found the surgery was 'always very clean.'
The four people we spoke with knew to speak to a member of staff if they had a complaint and that this would be looked at by the practice manager.
