Kindness, compassion and dignity
Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity, and showed compassion. One patient told us, “Everyone here is kind, nice and efficient. Another patient said, “The staff are approachable and very attentive, making patients feel comfortable. The care provided is very thorough with clear explorations about procedures and treatment options.” Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate. Another patient said, “The dentist was very caring and patient with my daughter especially as she was very nervous.” Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected. We were provided with a patient survey, including feedback from 20 patients. All respondents agreed that the reception, treatment room and other parts of the practice were always clean and comfortable. Patients said they had confidence in the knowledge and abilities of the orthodontists, therapists, staff and others involved in providing their dental care. All respondents agreed their opinions were always considered when the treatment options were being discussed and they would all recommend the practice to friends and family.
Staff were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights. They were aware of the importance of privacy and confidentiality. Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles. One staff member said, “Since I started my job at Smile Radiance Limited, I have been persuaded to improve myself to be more professional in my work and educate myself, always had the support during my training sessions.” Leaders described how they supported the wellbeing of staff.
