Our view of the service

We carried out this on-site, announced assessment on 12 July 2024. We found the practice had met regulations. The practice had systems to manage risks. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. Infection control procedures followed published guidance. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance. Patients were treated with dignity and respect. At the time of our assessment, patients could access care, support and treatment when required. There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Mydentist – Herftord Road – Waltham Cross is part of Mydentist a dental group provider. The practice is in the London Borough of Enfield and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. At the time of our assessment, the dental team included 8 dentists (including 1 orthodontist), 6 dental nurses, 2 trainee dental nurses, 1 dental hygienist, a practice managers and 1 receptionist. The practice had 4 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with 2 dentists, 2 dental nurses, and the practice manager. We also spoke with 2 of the organisations regulatory officers.

People's experience of this service

Two weeks before our visit, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. Four comments were received. 100% of views expressed by patients were positive. Patients felt that their privacy was respected, they were treated with consideration and courtesy. They said that staff were welcoming, polite and kind. The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken. Staff gathered feedback from patients, the public and external partners and demonstrated a commitment to acting on feedback. We reviewed patient feedback gathered by the practice. Patients commented that the dental team were friendly and reassuring when they were anxious, and that they staff team helped to put them at ease when they visited the practice. Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness.
