Our view of the service
Date of assessment: 19 March to 13 June 2024. Cygnet Churchill provides 2 mental health services; acute mental health services for adults of working age, and long stay or rehabiliation mental health wards for working age adults. This assessment looked at the ward providing acute mental health services for adults of working age (Juniper Ward) in response to concerns we received about the service. We rated this service requires improvement. The rating from this assessment of acute mental health services for adults of working age has been combined with ratings of the other service from the last inspection. See our previous reports to get a full picture of all other services at Cygnet Churchill. The overall rating of Cygnet Churchill has declined and is now requires improvement. In our assessment of acute mental health services for adults of working age we found concerns in relation to safe care and treatment, premises and equipment, dignity and respect, complaints, and governance. However, we also found areas of good practice and that the service had implemented sufficient improvements to comply with the requirement notices we issued at the last inspection.
