During a routine inspection
One person told us they were 'very happy' with their experience of the practice and they felt they were 'getting a good service'. One person described the staff as 'lovely, friendly and helpful.'
We asked one person how they were involved in decisions about their treatment and they explained how the dentist drew 'diagrams' to help their understanding. They said they were always given 'options' and the dentist gave their 'opinion' but 'the dentist leaves you to make your own mind up.'
We asked one person if they were treated with respect and they said 'completely'. We observed staff carrying out reception duties and all people were treated with courtesy and respect. It was evident from staff interactions with people that positive relationships had been developed.
We noted that one of the emergency drugs as recommended by the Resuscitation Council (UK) had expired and another recommended drug was not stocked. The manager agreed to promptly review the system for ordering and monitoring emergency drugs and within 24 hours we received written confirmation of the drugs having been ordered.
Staff we spoke with had a basic understanding of safeguarding people from abuse and were actively making arrangements to attend specialist training.
