During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people, and they all expressed their satisfaction with the dentist, his staff and the care and treatment they had received there. One person said "It is not plush, but the service is excellent; the staff feel like family!" Another person commented the consultation room was hot inside, but they would not consider going anywhere else because of the care given by the dentist. A third person told us the dental nurse "was exceptional and very knowledgeable", and a fourth person told us of "the kind care delivered by the lady dentist."

We were told consent was sought prior to any examination or treatment. The records we read documented this. The patient records were stored appropriately, and updated on each consultation.

People's needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual treatment plan. People told us they were given "excellent care" and they were confident they received safe treatment at the practice.

We saw the practice was adequately maintained, and the infection control procedures were carried out according to the practice protocols. People attending the practice expressed confidence in the abilities of the people who worked there. Staff received appropriate training and were supported to develop their professional practice. This ensured their professional competence and enabled them to provide a good service to their patients.
