Safe and effective staffing
We looked at recruitment checks including the Disclosure and Baring checks (DBS) for 20 staff employed by Caremark (Ealing). Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks provide information including details about convictions and cautions held on the Police National Computer and helps employers make safe recruitment decisions. We found that the provider followed safe recruitment practices and ensured that only staff who were fully vetted were recruited to provide personal care to people who used the service. This meant systems and procedures were in place to provide safe care to people who used the service.
