Kindness, compassion and dignity
People’s Experience Patients we spoke with provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Patient comments included that staff were “warm” and “friendly”, “positive”, and showed “compassion”. Patients said staff were “professional, gentle”, and “helped to put children at ease”. Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected. The service sought patients feedback following their care and treatment. Summarised results showed that the 22 patients surveyed answered positively to questions about their experience of treatment received, involvement and making decisions about their care and treatment and punctuality.
Staff were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights. Staff were aware of the importance of privacy and confidentiality. Staff told us they were treated with respect, and they felt valued and supported in their roles. Leaders described how they supported the wellbeing of staff.
