Our view of the service
Sussex House is a care home for older people and younger adults requiring Mental Health support. At the time of our inspection there were 22 people receiving a service. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) completed this inspection on 18 July 2024 and 22 July 2024. The inspection was planned due to safeguarding concerns notified to the CQC and to look at the completion of required actions the provider needed to complete following our previous inspection. The previous CQC inspection identified breaches in Regulation 12; Medicines, Regulation 17 Good governance, and Regulation 18 Staffing. At this inspection the provider had improved and the service is no longer in breach of these regulations. Staff spoke positively about their roles and the management support provided. The registered manager completed a range of checks to maintain and improve standards. This included obtaining feedback from people about their experiences. Further work was required to broaden feedback and evaluate the information collected. We spoke with 5 people who lived at the home and 4 relatives. We spoke with 4 members of care staff, the deputy manager and the registered manager. We also received feedback from a community nurse and a social worker.
