During a routine inspection
The practice consisted of a reception/waiting area, one treatment room, a decontamination area and a toilet all these facilities were provided on first floor. The practice did not meet disability discrimination act requirements. This meant that people with reduced mobility would not be able to access the service.
People we spoke with confirmed their consent was always given before any treatment was provided. One person said, "I do sign a consent form in reception with everything explained".
We found that people's treatment plans explained the treatment people had been given and any areas of concern or advice given. One person said, "The dentist explains fully my treatment and reassures me".
The environment of the practice we found to be clean and tidy. The provider had systems in place to reduce the risk of cross infection.
We found that the provider had systems in place to ensure only suitable staff were employed.
The provider had a number of processes in place including a complaints process to allow people to share any comments they had about the practice.
