During a routine inspection
The dental team consisted of four dentists, three dental nurses, receptionist and a manager. All the dental practitioners were registered with the General Dental Council.
We found that people were informed of their treatment options and consent for treatment was obtained. One person who used the service said, 'My treatment options were discussed with me and I was informed of the benefits of having the treatment.'
We looked at three dental records that showed the treatment people had received and the frequency of follow up visits.
We found that the decontamination processes for instruments used for dental treatment were satisfactory.
Staff recruitment practices were not entirely robust to ensure the suitability of staff who worked there but one person who used the service described the staff as, 'Nice, friendly and reassuring.'
The practice had an effective quality assurance monitoring system in place to ensure people were not placed at risk of unsafe care or treatment.
