Kindness, compassion and dignity
Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. Patient comments included that staff were welcoming and attentive, acted with integrity, and showed compassion. One patient said, “Treatment was done well with consideration given to potential discomfort.” Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate. Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected. We were provided with a patient survey which showed us that patients were supported to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources. People received care from staff who were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights, and of the importance of privacy and confidentiality. Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles, and their wellbeing was supported. Feedback comments from staff included, “I feel that we all work as a team, help to support each other in day to day working and we are supported to progress in the job.” Another said, “it’s a happy and welcoming environment, somewhere that you look forward to going to.” Staff told us about the benefits the practice provided for example, supported training, protected breaks and flexible working. They were also given access to emergency dental care at the practice if required.
