The registered manager met with us in an on-line meeting on 27 February 2024 having previously provided specific information to CQC. The staff team were supported to meet people’s needs. Any accidents or incidents were reported, recorded and action was taken to help reduce re-occurrence. There were good audit systems and processes in place to give the registered manager oversight of the service provided. For example, staff were provided with training and regular support. People, their relatives, staff and external healthcare professionals were asked for their views and experiences of the service provided by Beyond Limits. Feedback was positive. However, there were some anxieties expressed by some relatives regarding recent changes in the staff teams.The Director, Service Leader and Key Worker from Livewell arranged regular meetings with the family to support them through the changes.

Governance, management and sustainability

Relatives of people who were supported had shared their views with the service. Comments included, “I am happy with (Person’s name) service and relieved they are safe,” “I do feel we have been listened to” and “(Person’s name) has developed beyond anything we could have hoped for i.e kayaking, rock climbing and cycling.” Some relatives were concerned about staff team changes and commented. "We are very worried about major changes in the staff team." The registered manager had shared with us that they had experienced some changes in the staffing team recently but they were now fully staffed. People were involved in decisions related to their care and support. One external healthcare professional stated, “For me, I feel Beyond Limits provides an exemplary service to vulnerable adults .” Staff were asked for their views in a variety of ways. i.e surveys and regular staff meetings.

The manager had good oversight of the service provided. Audit systems and processes were in place. These were regularly reviewed by the provider. Training and supervision records were reviewed during the call with CQC. We discussed alternative ways in which this information could be held, to further improve the managers effectiveness and help ensure all staff training and support are up to date.
