During a routine inspection
People told us that the dentists explained the treatment options to them and explained the benefits and risks of each option. One person told us, "The dentist talked through the options of different types of fillings and crowns with me."
People also told us that they were very happy with the treatment they received. One person described the service as, "...very nice." The treatment plans were personalised and detailed and contained records of all treatments that had been given.
On the day of our inspection the reception area was clean and bright. We noted that the service had an up to date policy on infection control. However, we found areas where the standard of cleanliness was not appropriate such as in one of the two treatment rooms and in the x-ray room.
We saw that the dentists and dental professionals had completed the required amount of continuous professional development (CPD) to maintain their professional registration.
We saw that service had a survey form on a table in the waiting area for people to complete. These were then placed in a box on the table. The practice manager told us that they had analysed the results of these forms in October 2013 and identified actions to improve the service for people.
