Date of Assessment: 28 October 2024 to 31 October 2024. The service is a Domiciliary Care Agency (DCA) registered to provide personal care. People were supported with their personal care needs to enable them to live in their own homes and promote their independence. At the time of the inspection the service supported 24 people with personal care. At our last inspection the service was in breach of regulations regarding keeping people safe and checking the quality of care. The service had made improvements and is no longer in breach of regulations. Staff now assessed and mitigated risks. Care plans now guided safe practice. People were confident staff would arrive as expected and knew how to safely support them. The provider had effective quality monitoring systems in place to identify and drive improvements. Managers investigated incidents thoroughly and followed up on any additional actions to maintain people’s safety in their own home. People received their medicines as prescribed by staff who were trained and assessed as competent to do so. Staff were safely recruited. People were involved in their individual assessments of care, which took account of their preferences and communication styles. People were referred to additional healthcare services if there was a change in their care needs. People were actively engaged in decisions about their care and treatment to enable them to give informed consent. Staff involved those important to people in decisions in people’s best interests where they did not have capacity. People had their dignity and privacy respected by staff who promoted their independence. People knew how to give feedback and were confident the service took it seriously and acted on it. Managers and care coordinators were visible, knowledgeable and supportive, helping staff develop in their roles. People were supported by staff who felt valued by the management team.
