During a routine inspection
People told us that they were given the choice in their care and treatments. All the staff explained practices and answered questions whenever care was administered.
Care and treatment records were up to date and regularly reviewed to ensure that people were given the treatment and care they needed. Risk assessments were made on relevant areas to protect the safety and welfare of people. One person told us, "I am very well looked after." Another person told us, "They help me get up in the morning and see that I am washed and ready for the day." Another person told us that they received good care and were well supported by the staff.
Safeguarding policies and practices were well established and staff received appropriate training to ensure that they were up to date with their safeguarding practices. There were secure door management practices in place. People who were spoken with told us that they felt safe in the hospital and there were sufficient staff on duty at all times.
