Riverview Care Home is registered to provide care and support to people with learning disabilities and autism. The service can accommodate up to 6 people. At the time of our inspection 5 people were living at the service. The inspection took place between 3 February and 12 February 2025. This inspection consisted of quality statements under the key questions of safe, effective, caring and responsive. We visited the service on 6 February 2025. We inspected the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether Riverview Care Home guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. Care was person-centred, the provider’s policy and staff practices placed people’s right to make decisions and be in control of their care at the heart of the service. The registered manager told us, “This home is run as a democracy, I’m here to support with the administration and make things happen, but it’s the people who live here who are in charge.” Risks were assessed to help keep people safe. Information was presented to people in an accessible way to support choice and decision-making. Care promoted people’s dignity, privacy and human rights. Care staff protected people’s dignity and treated them with kindness and respect. Safeguarding procedures were in place. Staff told us they knew how to raise concerns both within the service and outside. Staff told us they were confident the registered manager would follow up any concerns.
