Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
The Registered Person must not admit any new service users to Nayland Lodge without the prior written agreement of the Care Quality Commission. This includes readmissions including hospital discharge, respite, and emergency admissions.
The Registered Person must ensure that a competent person conducts a review of training needs in the service which must include an assessment of staff competency, their understanding and learning gaps. This must be linked to an assessment of the individual needs of service users. The outcome of this review must be shared with the Commission within one month of the service of this notice.
The Registered Person must ensure all staff, including agency staff, receive training that teaches them skills in how to breakaway, disengage and de-escalate from situations of aggression and violence and are competent to protect the service user, other service users and themselves from the risk of harm.
The Registered Person must ensure a risk assessment about Service user A is carried out immediately and risk assessments for the remaining five service users are re-assessed for new risk and revised where required to mitigate any risks identified. These assessments should be specific to the individual and show key areas of risk and the actions to be taken to mitigate those risks. The assessments and subsequent care plans should provide sufficient detail to allow all staff to support the individual and others safely and effectively.
The Registered Person must on 23 December 2023, and thereafter on a fortnightly basis send the Commission a report on the implementation of conditions 3-4
Terms of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
The registered provider must only accommodate a maximum of 8 service users at Nayland Lodge.
The registered provider must not provide nursing care under accommodation for persons who require personal or nursing care at Nayland Lodge.
