During a routine inspection
People who used the service told us they were happy with staff providing their care and the support they needed. The provider had appropriate procedures in place in the event of an emergency. The provider took reasonable steps to ensure the needs of people who used the service were being met. However, staff had not been provided specific training to support the particular needs of people.
We observed that the premises was clean and tidy. The provider had appropriate policies, procedures and checks to ensure the service was free of infection. However it was not clear how detailed some of the checks undertaken were.
Staff were appropriately checked before they undertook employment with the provider. The provider had a reasonable recruitment process to ensure new staff could meet the needs of people who used the service.
Although there were comments from people that parts of the premises could be updated, no one had any concerns or complaints regarding the care that was provided. The provider had an appropriate complaints process and complaints had been dealt with reasonably.
