During an inspection looking at part of the service
The provider had appropriate processes in place to ensure medicines were administered safely. Medicines were recorded and stored appropriately.

People we spoke with indicated they were happy with the care they received. Although we observed some care that was not considerate, it was safe and staff were aware of how to care for people safely. The provider had records in place to ensure staff were aware of how to meet people's individual needs.
Although medication was safely stored and administered, the recording of medicines was not always accurate.
We saw, and staff confirmed that the provider undertook appropriate checks before staff were employed.
The provider undertook quality monitoring to ensure people's needs were being met safely. People who use the service were involved in making improvements.
All the people we spoke with said they made decisions regarding their care and were able to take part in activities they enjoyed. Most of the interaction between staff and people who use the service was respectful and showed that staff supported people's needs. However there were a few instances where that interaction did not respect people's privacy and dignity.
People told us that they their needs were supported by staff and they found the staff caring. When we observed staff, both before and during care, they gave clear explanations to people who use the service in a way the person could understand.
All the people we spoke with were happy with the staff and had no concerns regarding the way they were cared for. The service had up to date procedures to safeguard people from abuse which staff were aware of.
Most of the staff were fully trained and qualified to care for the needs of the people who use the service.
The records for people who use the service were up to date and had relevant information regarding each person's needs. The service had a clear structured and labelled system so records were accessible.
