High Green Medical Practice is an NHS practice located within Mary Potter Centre in Hyson Green, Nottingham. It is registered to deliver the regulated activities: diagnostic and screening procedures, maternity and midwifery services, surgical procedures and treatment of disease, disorder or injury. The practice was last rated Good overall with requires improvement in providing effective services (published 30 May 2018). The report was published following CQC’s old inspection approach using key lines of enquiry (KLOEs), prompts and ratings characteristics. This assessment has been completed following the Care Quality Commission (CQC) new approach to assessment; Single Assessment Framework (SAF). We carried out an announced on-site assessment between 22 and 23 May 2024. The assessment included a remote activity which included interviews with staff and clinical searches on the practice’s patient records system. Prior to the assessment we requested evidence from the practice. We assessed 34 quality statements across safe, effective, responsive and well led key questions. At this assessment we found safe recruitment systems in place and effective systems to help protect people from abuse and neglect. People’s care and treatment was usually delivered in line with current guidance and evidence, and by staff who had the required skills, knowledge and experience. Medicines and treatments mostly met people’s needs. People had positive outcomes because they received effective care and treatment that met their needs and were supported to live healthier lives. People could access the care, support and treatment they needed, when they needed it, and in a way that worked for them. There were clear and effective governance structures in place and comprehensive quality assurance systems. However, systems to relating to freedom to speak up needed enhancing to promote a culture of openness in the practice team.
