Well-led
For this key question, we assessed 2 quality statements relating to Leadership and Governance. We found the provider to be in breach of regulation in relation to Governance. We found the provider had not followed robust systems to ensure they had effective oversight of the quality of the service, this included in relation to care practice, care records, recruitment, and safety of the environment. However, we found some improvement had been made. Feedback from people living in the home and their relatives was positive about the improvement in the service in recent months. The approachability of the provider had been praised. Staff told us they felt valued and respected at work and were confident they were supported by a caring leader.

Capable, compassionate and inclusive leaders
There were processes in place for staff to provide feedback to leaders and to raise any concerns they may have.
Staff told us they had confidence in the leadership from the provider. Staff felt respected and valued at work and able to raise any concerns.

Governance, management and sustainability
Staff we spoke with had confidence in the provider's governance. Relatives we spoke with commented on improvements they had noticed in recent months.
Audits had not been completed with sufficient thoroughness to provide assurance the manager had effective oversight of the quality of care, care records, recruitment procedures, and the premises. People had been at risk of harm. We had to request urgent action be taken during the assessment to mitigate significant risks in relation to the premises. We had to request further information from the provider in relation to their oversight. The information we received evidenced a lack of management oversight of the quality of care, care records and premises.
