During a routine inspection
At the time of our inspection we were told by the registered manager that there were 75 people receiving a service from Firstpoint homecare. First point homecare provided a range of services to people that included; supporting people with their personal and nursing care, cleaning, shopping and accessing their local community.
We visited the office to look at records and documentation relating to how people's care was delivered. We spoke with people who used the service and three relatives via the telephone and spoke with three members of staff. This enabled us to gain an understanding of people's experiences, and how the service was delivered.
Overall comments were positive from people who used the service. Comments included; 'The girls are very nice', 'they always turn up and if they are running late I receive a call from the office to explain', 'it was difficult at the start of my service as I had many different staff coming in. That is much better now though'.
One relative told us their family member looked forward to seeing the member of care staff to play cards or dominoes with them. People told us they knew who to contact should they have any complaints or concerns and confirmed they felt listened to and involved in their care.
