During a routine inspection
People's needs were assessed and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual treatment plan. People we spoke with commented positively about the care and treatment they had received. They told us it was easy to make appointments and waiting times at the practice were minimal. One person said, 'I was made very welcome and I walked straight in for my treatment without having to wait.'
There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. We saw people were protected from the risk of infection because appropriate guidance was available and had been followed. People we spoke with told us the practice was always very clean and staff always wore protective clothing when treating them. One person said, 'I noticed the dentist was wearing gloves and a mask.'
Staff received appropriate professional development. We saw staff had accessed various training so they could meet people's needs and maintain their qualifications. One person said, 'There was the dentist, a nurse and a student nurse. They all seemed very competent.'
The practice had an effective well organised system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people received. It also had a complaints policy and took account of complaints and comments to improve the service. One person said, 'I wasn't asked to fill in a questionnaire. I was happy with my treatment so I was in and out and didn't notice if there was a suggestion box.'
