During a routine inspection
People who used the service told us staff treated them with dignity and respect and their privacy was maintained. Comments we received were:' The care workers always help me to do as much as possible for myself:' 'They (the care workers) always stay the agreed length of time;' 'All the care workers are very good; the staff sit and talk to me especially if I have anything on my mind.'
The majority of the people who used the service told us that there were not enough care workers and that they did not always arrive on time due to the staff shortages. However the majority of the people we spoke with did tell us that they didn't think this was a problem and that they didn't mind as they realised the staff were very busy.
Everyone we spoke with told us that they had not experienced any discrimination from any of the staff team. All but one person said that they thought the service overall was either excellent or good. One person said 'Overall the service is good but need more staff.'
We were told that there was a comprehensive induction and training programme in place. All the people who used the service said that they thought the care workers had the skills necessary to support and care for them.
