During a routine inspection

We looked at the duty rota which covered the month of September 2013 to ascertain the numbers of staff on duty and how many were planned to be on duty. The duty rota showed the MRI unit was staffed by two full time radiographers with a third radiographer dividing her time across another three sites offering extra support and managerial guidance. We spoke to one radiographer who said she was very happy working at the unit and was able to take annual leave as needed.

We spoke with a patient who had undergone a MRI scan at this service. She told us she was happy with the service provided and described the staff as being 'Professional and approachable.' The rotational manager said that there were sufficient staff available on duty to meet the needs of the people who use the service.

The service had taken appropriate measures to ensure there were sufficient numbers of suitably skilled and experienced persons to provide care that was safe, effective and met people's needs.
