Caring
People and relatives told us the staff were caring, kind and attentive. Families were involved in the care planning and review process. Feedback from relatives was very positive about the staff and agency. Staff were knowledgeable about people’s needs. Staff spoke about people in a caring and kind way. People were encouraged to be as independent as possible.

Independence, choice and control
People were involved in their care planning and reviews. People were able to choose how they wanted to be supported and this was recorded in care records. People told us they made choices and staff would listen to them. People and relatives praised the staff for being empathic and supportive.
Staff and leaders encouraged people to be as independent as possible. The registered manager shared with us some examples of supporting people to become independent, for example, assisting someone to do their own cooking and ordering a wheelchair for a person so they could access the community when they wanted to. Staff told us that people made decisions about their care. People had the opportunity to give the staff feedback on a regular basis.
People were asked for their views when engaging with the agency. Care records reviewed showed people’s likes and preferences were recorded. The provider promoted people’s independence and choices.
