During a routine inspection
We looked at care records for people who used the service and found they were up to date and provided good information about how people's care and support needs would be met.
We saw that the service used its own corporate safeguarding policies in conjunction with the Local Authority safeguarding procedures. These provided information for staff on how to detect different types of abuse and the process for reporting abuse.
We reviewed three staff files and saw evidence of regular supervision and annual appraisals. Each member of staff completed the St Anne's induction programme. We looked at the training plan for the year and found that a wide range of courses were available to staff.
The care provider had systems in place to record and deal with comments and complaints. The complaints policy described how to deal with a complaint and what process to follow and how it would be monitored. This was also available in an 'easy read' format. The manager informed us that this service had never received any complaints.
