During a routine inspection
We did not speak with any of the people who received direct support. This was because they were too unwell to do so. However we spoke with one relative and two carers/guardians who were provided with respite support from the service. We looked at four care records and information and care plans for the seven people receiving end of life care at the time of the inspection. We reviewed four staff recruitment records and records for the management and administration of the service. We also used information from the services own quality assurance survey of service users and relatives that was carried out in June 2013. We obtained feedback from a professional from the NHS End of Life coordinating team.
We were told by carers/guardians their opinion and observations about the service. 'X is always happy.' Other comments included 'A positive experience' and 'Quite happy.' Carers and relatives we spoke with told us about the staff provided by the service. One person said,' They understand and are very good with x, they look after x well.' Another said about the staff, 'Very willing.'
