During a routine inspection
Comments regarding the service included, "So far okay," "They go out of their way to accommodate me," and "Very nice {care staff}..and very helpful...they will stay if there's a problem."
People told us that they felt staff respected their privacy and dignity, for example, by closing curtains when assisting with personal care.
People and staff told us that generally staff where aware of their needs and had sufficient training to meet those needs. In one case we were told that a person had told their relative that staff did not appear to know what they were doing.
People told us that they felt safe and that staff were caring. We found that although staff had had some safeguarding training it was insufficient to enable them to feel fully confident about the process.
We found that although there were recruitment procedures in place these were not always followed, meaning that on some occasions people may be put at risk.
We saw that although there were some systems in place to assess the quality of service provision this required further development in order to be effective.
