Our observations showed us that young people were given the support and attention they needed and that there was a calm atmosphere in each unit.
We found that improvements had been made to the organisation of the care plans and that they had nearly all been reviewed and updated but more work was required.
Young people told us that they received the care, treatment and support they needed and that staff were kind.

The first phase of refurbishment and redecoration of the hospital had begun. Further improvements were needed to the environment which was clean.
Young people living in the hospital told us that adequate staffing levels were provided most of the time but their community activities were sometimes cancelled due to staff members being unavailable.
Improvements had been made to the support given to staff through increased training, supervision and the staff meetings held.
