If errors were identified the provider had processes in place to minimise the potential for reoccurrence. Staff were safely recruited. People’s assessments took account of their preferences and communication styles. People were encouraged to refer themselves for additional healthcare services if there was a change in their care needs. People’s care plans were updated when required. People were actively engaged in decisions about their care and treatment to enable them to give informed consent. When it was needed the management team involved those important to people in decisions to promote people’s best interests.
