During a routine inspection
Before moving in potential residents visited the service and the staff had received comprehensive information about the support they needed. Once a person had moved in there were a number of ways they were involved in decisions: through discussions with their key worker and through involvement in residents' meetings, coffee sessions and other activities.
People who use the service were protected from the risk of abuse because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening. This included helping residents become more aware of keeping themselves safe.
Staff we spoke with received appropriate development and training and told us they felt well supported by the provider in carrying out their role.
There was an effective complaints system in place. The provider had systems in place for checking that the service was performing effectively.
