People were given information they needed to make an informed decision about their care and were asked to provide their consent to such care. We saw people were cared for effectively and care was planned in a way that ensured the welfare of people.

There was an effective recruitment process. However checks were not always carried out before staff commenced the care and support of people.
We saw staff who were not always experienced or appropriately qualified provided care and support for people requiring end of life care.
The provider had an effective system in place to assess and monitor the quality of the service. Complaints were taken seriously and responded to appropriately.
People who used the service were positive about the care and support provided. Comments included “We came to Bluebird because they have a good reputation” and “They are very thorough and respectful”.
