During a routine inspection
We found that people's needs were assessed as soon as they joined the service and care was tailored to people. The registered manager said to us "fundamentally it's about them, we give them the care they want".
Care plans were individual and stated what people liked to do and what they needed help with.
People were protected from abuse and staff within the service knew how to identify signs of abuse. Staff were clear about how to report concerns and who to report them to including reporting safeguarding concerns to the manager another senior member of staff or the Care Quality Commission.
The service had clear guidelines on management of medicines. Staff who administered medication had relevant training and we saw evidence that staff who did not have the required training or knowledge to do so, referred to a member of staff who could administer medication when necessary.
Records were stored securely and could be accessed easily.
