Governance, management and sustainability

Score: 3

The registered manager told us they had made significant improvements to the service, and had used previous issues positively to improve and develop their understanding as a leader and to work towards compliance with regulation. The registered manager needed time to ensure the changes are fully embedded.

Whilst the service had taken action to improve the systems and processes, and made strides towards improvement, some small areas still required attention. For example, we noted the provider's medication policies did not reference covert medication. At the time of the assessment no-one was receiving support with their medicines, so this did not impact on people's safety, however, should the service be required to support people with medicines in future, they would not have this guidance. Another area of improvement we identified was in respect of people's daily care notes. Staff recorded their visits, however, these lacked detail to demonstrate how they had delivered person centred care and at times, were task orientated.
