Our view of the service
The Park Residential and Nursing Home is a residential care home providing personal and nursing care to up to 42 people. The service provides support to older and younger people, some of whom may be living with dementia, physical and sensory disabilities. At the time of our inspection there were 29 people using the service. We registered this service on 6 July 2020, and this was the first inspection.
People's experience of this service
During the onsite assessment we spoke with 6 people and 1 visiting relative. People felt they could approach staff for help and that staff were friendly. People were helped to settle and feel at home when they first moved in and continued to access what other healthcare services they needed. People felt safe. One person told us, “I do feel safe, mainly because the staff know you and your little quirks and I’m content with the way things are.” People felt involved in how risks were managed and that their environment was safe and clean. People did not feel restricted in what they could do. People told us they felt there were enough staff present to help ensure their safety and any medicines needed. Staff listened to people and promoted their independence and choices. People told us they enjoyed their meals. People enjoyed the friendships they had developed and the variety of activities available that helped them follow their interests.
