During an inspection in response to concerns
One person said that communication in the Copeland unit was very good and they knew who to speak to if they had concerns. 'The sister explained the complaints procedure to me and said any problems you can talk to me... and that's OK for me'.
"Hospital food is very nice, like a good caf'.
A visitor told us "my relative transferred here three days ago which has meant so much to me. This is the second time on the unit. It's excellent, the best thing about this hospital. I have had the best night's sleep for three weeks, now my relative is here. The manager is brilliant with patients and staff. The place is spotless. Staff courteous and polite and the manager approachable, firm but fair. Patient care is put first here".
'The therapists have got me walking again. They make sure you take your time so you have more confidence. They always walk beside me when I use the frame'.
'It's a GP led unit and I find the continuity good as you always see the same doctor, talk to them and ask questions. I like that. You know what's going on and feel in charge'.
"Here I feel more involved...as they explain things to me. Staff tell me more than the doctor's about what's going on. I know they talk to my daughter and she tells me what's happening as well'.
'It's quite relaxed and you get looked after all right".
