During a routine inspection
'They've been very good; I've had help from a physiotherapist. They've given me a copy of my programme of exercises to do each day.'
'Staff are very thoughtful, kind and considerate.'
'I'm very happy with the approach of the nursing staff; they've responded to my questions well and have explained to me the treatment I am receiving.'
Health care workers generally respected patients' privacy and dignity. We found some patients with communication difficulties were not treated with dignity. Assessments of patients' care needs and risks were completed and patients' safety was protected. Patients told us they felt safe at the service and we saw there were effective systems to protect them from abuse.
We spoke to staff and managers working on the three wards. Staff did not always receive the support they needed. In some parts of the service, there was good use of information to ensure there was learning from incidents. The provider did not always consistently use information from different parts of the service to ensure improvements were made.
