During an inspection in response to concerns
People told us that they were happy with the care they had received. One person said it had been an 'extremely positive experience'. Comments received were 'really good quality care right the way through', 'they made me feel like they genuinely cared about me as a person' and 'brilliant, I cannot make one bad comment'.
Overall people stated that the level of cleanliness was very good and that the wards were swept and cleaned on a regular basis. People had seen that beds and equipment were cleaned between uses. People said that hand cleaning was carried out by staff in advance of any care being provided.
Comments received in respect of the cleanliness of the hospital included 'it's always being cleaned, and the ward smells really nice! You can't fault the cleanliness' and 'cleaners cleaned this morning, it was very good'.
People we spoke with felt their privacy and dignity were valued by the staff. People said that having single rooms provided more privacy and was less stressful, particularly having their own bathroom. They told us that all staff, including midwives, nurses, domestic staff and doctors always knocked on the door before entering. People said that staff would not enter and disturb them if they were sleeping.
