During a routine inspection
People were supported in promoting their independence and community involvement. We saw from care records that people were supported to access a range of activities in their local community including going on outings, shopping and attending day centres and were supported to maintain contact with family.
A comprehensive assessment was undertaken for each person and detailed care plans were in place. Staff had signed all assessments and care plans to confirm that they had read and understood them. Staff supported people to maintain or develop their life skills and supported people to work towards developing new skills such as baking.
The staff we spoke with had a good knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and how to keep people safe and all staff had completed safeguarding training. We saw that the provider had taken action to deal with safeguarding concerns.
Staff told us that they are well supported and received regular supervision with their manager. Staff told us that they had opportunities for further development.
We saw that the provider undertook a range of audits to improve the quality of the service provided and follow-up action was taken where required.
