Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
The registered provider must not provide personal care to any new service users from Bluewood Care Limited without the prior written agreement of the Care Quality Commission.
Within seven days of this notice coming into effect, the registered provider must undertake a full review of each service users’ needs to ensure that any associated risks are identified and assessed. Risk assessments must be accurate, detailed and shared with staff to provide them with the information they need to provide safe individualised care.
Within seven days of this notice coming into effect, the registered provider must review each service users’ prescribed medication and ensure it is managed safely and in line with your policy and procedure and best practice guidance. Detailed medication protocols for emergency first aid medication, including oxygen must be in place and shared with staff.
Within seven days of this notice coming into effect, the registered provider must review the training provided to staff to ensure they have the necessary training and skills to carry out their duties safely. Competency checks need to be completed regularly to ensure staff are carrying out these duties in line with their training and best practice guidance. Both the training and competency checks must be completed by an appropriately trained person.
Within, fourteen days of this notice taking effect and then the first Monday of every month thereafter, the registered provider must carry out audits in the following areas. The purpose of the audits is to enable you to assure yourself and evidence:
• Risks to service users are identified, assessed, mitigated and consistently well-managed.
• Service users are in receipt of care which reflects their needs, preference and wishes.
• Service users care records, including all supplementary charts are detailed, accurate and up to date.
• Medications are managed and administered safely in line with best practice and nationally recognised guidance.
• All equipment, including medical equipment is checked daily prior to use by staff.
• Your governance systems and management oversight are effective in making, sustaining and continuously improving the quality and safety of the service provided.
The registered provider must send to the Care Quality Commission a report outlining their audit findings in response to conditions 1-5 within seven days of completion. The report must summarise the audit findings, detail the improvement actions to be taken, who is responsible for them and the timescale in which improvements will be achieved. The report must include details of actions taken and ensure that all areas have been addressed.
